Air filter change on w-22 w/8.1 vortec
just bought an '02 fleetwood fiesta w- 22 w/8.1 vortec. engine has 28k miles, figured it was a good idea to check the air filter, seems the coach was built AROUND the filter box, I've been wrenching 45 years, can't see how i'm gonna remove the spring clips and get them back on without removing the box. maybe drilling out 2 rivets in bottom of box? any thoughts would be helpful

On mine, you can get it apart just enough to get the filter out. Barely.

On my 2004 Monaco La Palma W22 it is pretty simple to replace. Mine is located on the passenger side in front of the front tire.
I raise the front with my stabilizers and have the wheels turned so I can access the cover and filter.

X2, My Bounder 2004, I do the exact same way. Easy change.

Strongly recommend having some jack stands supporting the frame if you're under the coach with the jacks down. Never trust a mechanical supporting system. JMHO
I sometime have to scratch my head wondering how someone can keep a job engineering locations for items like this. Now if they had a full time career of having to change these filters, I'd bet they would find a much more convenient location.

Thanks for the input, my prob is its located between tire and radiator with the top of air box (where the the clips are) about 1-2" from coach floor, if it was in front of tire ther'd be plenty of room

Pull the whole box and clean the MAF while you are in there.
