When I run my dash air, the compressor comes on for 4 seconds then shuts off for 10 seconds then repetes. This in turn runs the 2 electric radiator fans for 4 seconds at a time. Besides being anoying, this doesn't seem right. Could I be low on freon?

Very possibly low on refrigerant. Need to get it to a service center with a good A/C tech to check it and see where you have a leak. Since it is 5 years old, hopefully it does not have a leak in the evaporator coil.

Mine was doing the same thing, I added freon and it just leaked out overnight. I tried the dye and and tightened all the connections I could find but could not find the offending connection. Alan at Brazels found the connector on the drivers side of the radiator (just below the high pressure port) not even finger tight. It did not leak with vacuum but we could see and hear it when the freon was added. Might want to check that connector....

But I don’t understand why it would cycle the fans.

Full-Timers, I believe the electric fans in front of the AC condenser come on when the clutch for the unit cycles on.
