While cleaning the wheel covers, I noticed that some of the chrome lug nuts were loose, I got a socket and tightened them and most of the chrome nut comes came off. What can I do about putting the covers back on the nuts?

Most important: I think there were four of these nuts on each wheel. Are these nuts holding on the wheel? Are there real lug nuts under the wheel covers? If so what is the socket size?

Not sure how it works on the Workhorse with chrome wheel covers, but should be similar to what I had with my previous Ford chassis.

There are some chrome nuts that do hold the wheel cover, not the actual wheel. I had 3 on the Ford chassis. they were marked with an indentation on the side. After removing them the cover could be removed and that would reveal the actual lugnuts. If you removed some that were not supposed to be removed, I have no idea how to reattach them.

Glenn and Kathy are right. The covers you have have "fake" lug nuts, with the exception being that two are actual bolts that hold the cover on the wheel. The fake ones are held on by stainless steel tabs and these tabs fold over on the hole of the cover.

I rubbed one of my Wheelmaster covers on a curb and was able to get the exact replacement cover for $50 on Ebay (22.5" wheel)

Yes. If you have a W-series the nuts are 33MM and require 475 pounds-foot of torque, so it is not likely you accidently loosened them. ED

It sounds like you are looking at the covers on the actual lug nuts. The just push on and off over the actual lug nuts. If they are too loose you can try to put a small indentation in them to so they are a slight press fit onto the lug nuts. If that doesn't work you can go to a truck stop and pick up some new ones. they are cheap. I am not sure what the actual socket size is that you need .ope this helps

As per my signature, I have an '03 32BA.

My chrome wheel simulators have 4 fake nuts that cannot be removed (unless you break them) and, in between, are 4 fake nuts that can be pulled of with pliers. I wrap my pliers with electic tape to prevent scratching. Under those 4 fake nuts that can be removed are 4 real nuts that hold the chrome wheel simulator on. These nuts are 30MM. Those are only threaded about 1/3". When they are removed the simulator can be pulled of to expose the 33MM lug nuts.

You can usually find the fake nut covers at a truck stop.

JOhnnie </div></BLOCKQUOTE>What brand of wheel simulators do you have? Mine had Dicor; you can go to their website and order replacement parts and wheel simulators direct. The Winnebago Parts catalog should be able to help you out.

Helpful instructions:

Sometime back, I replaced all the wheel simulators and they look great. Someday, I'd like to upgrade to Alcoa's... one of the problems I've had is the jam nuts tend to tighten up and are hard to remove. I took the OEM jam nut tool, cut off the end, and had them welded to square stock as a handle, which made it a lot stronger. The original OEM tool handle would simply twist and distort from trying to take off the jam nuts.
