allison trans noise

I have a Workhorse W-22 8.1,2005 34F Bounder,under a year old,when the trans shift bto 4th gear, there is a buzzing or almost like a vacumm leak untill it upshifts and than about 10 seconds later the noise stops.

Sal,

I would consider taking it to your Workhorse service center to have it evaluated.

You might also want to find an Allison dealer and go and have it checked directly. I'm sure they will be able to figure this out for you in no time at all.

This will probably save you time from going to a service center first by going directly to Allison. Call first.

Sal,
If the sound also goes away when you shut off the AC, its not the transmission. I had the same noise, and it was resolved by changing out the AC compressor. Check out this forum thread Acelleration Grind/Whine
