While waiting in line to get my coach washed I got a message on my info part of my dash that J1851 wasn't working or operating? (I think that was the number - can't get it to come back again) was not functioning. Really first time out and had run it about 25 miles.

Everything seemed fine and was running fine. Took it out on the highway going back to my home and noticed the speedometer didn't work - all other guages did - also no passing gear?? Got home ok and called my local WH dealer - going to take it in tomorow to get it checked - went back out to confirm the code number and it was gone!! Everything is back to normal.

I know in my Cadillac I can pull the diagnostics my self from the system - will WH do the same? Can someone tell me anything about a J code?

Thanks in advance.

Send a message via AIM to oemtech
Basically it means the cluster is not getting any info from the OBD2 port.

Yes it did as I recall , say that there was no data - took it out this evening for a drive - everything is normal again. Should I worry?

That type of an error or EC will not keep you from traveling. The INST-BAT 5A (Inside panel) fuse protects that circuit. Pull the fuse and reinsert it. If the contacts are a little corroded re-inserting the fuse will scrape the sockets and perhaps make a better connection.

Aside from that I can not suggest anything else at the moment.

You might try all the ground points you can find. Make sure they're tight, this was mentioned on another post that a loose ground affected one owners Actia Panel.
