Recently I've found myself defending some of our WH folks on RV Forum. I felt the negative comments and insults weren't necessary and only added fuel to the fire. In the meantime, I have been critisized for my defense. I'm a big boy and don't need any help, but this has got me wondering. If the reason that at least two of you haven't commented recently because you don't check out that forum for because you were unaware? I'm just curious as I'm through defending anyone unless there is another comment made directly to me.

golden...I have learned to try and not let what folks say on other forums get me down. I usually find that the person posting negative comments about iRV2 was more than likely being scolded here and probably did not have much to contribute here anyway.

Thank You for defending the iRV2 but don't let the negative posts get to you. I have learned it is easier to ignore such posts. It is easier for me to not go someplace else and defend iRV2 because we have members like you who understand the values and integrity that we share here.

We do value members such as you who do care - but we also understand that we will not be the forum for every RVer on the web.

Thank You for your support.

MM,
You are correct, I should just ignore it, but sometimes my upbringing doesn't allow me to. I understand that some forums are not for everyone, but I respect the Administrator over there and he tries to keep things on track, informational, and friendly. It's a rare occasion when the train wheels slip off track, but it did happen and I didn't appreciate it. Perhaps your statement about ignoring what someone says over there is appropos in that I've not seen a post over there by one of the people who has being insulted. He apparently has more restraint than do I!

I've read the attacks and other remarks there also and some of it is not pleasant. But, I learned a long time ago to accept the good, disregard the bad and learn from both. One must consider the source of the comments and take them with a grain of salt. I have learned a lot from contributers to IRV2 and will continue to do so.

I like to read all the threads regarding brake problems and leaking roof problems, here and at three other sites, so I did see the brake posts there. More than one going, I think.

Tom the administrator is really fair there, so I was surprised that when he told the members over there to take it to email and not make any more personal remarks, that he didn't remove the post from member sheltie posted after his request. Posts like that should be edited or deleted so the thread doesn't keep going downhill and then get removed or locked down.

Thanks for sticking up for this forum or any rv forum that helps get information and questions answered.

Golden, that guy was escorted out of this forum....Some people just want to scream and holler and cause a commotion, then sit back and laugh. If you go to RV.Net,you see it all the time. They still show up here, under new names, but it is not that hard to pick them out.But the good thing is,their over there, and can't bother us too much here. Now if we can just be civil with one another here, maybe we can get through these brake problems, hey,Workhorse is paying people that replaced stuff, how great is that!

I received information from a fellow member here, who also appears to be a member at RV Forum, that shows the complete brake thread before the edits and deletions were done by the administrators and members. When viewed in its entirety and in the order of the original posts, it is clear that the original post in this thread is not accurate, and as such, I would like to apologize to any members here that are also members there. I cannot edit my first post, or I would do so.

My comments were based on the information originally posted here and I took “I was attacked’ at face value, which I now see was an error on my part. I didn’t even realize that Golden here is Sheltie there, one and the same person, but using different screen names. Since Golden posted in this thread three times, I wish he could have stated that but again, my apologies for jumping the gun and feeling that people there were being unfair to people here. The unedited thread shows otherwise.

Well, let me try to clear at least part of it up. When your original post came out, I sent you either a PM or email - I don't remember which - explain that I was Sheltie at RV Forum (there are any number of people who use different names on different forums) and I also explained to you what the sequence of posts were that involved me. I was as honest about the entire mess as I could've been which is why I sent you the seperate post to let you know who Sheltie was.

I never once said that I was attacked. I said that other members of this forum had been attacked, and I absolutely stand by that. Two members of that forum, who had been ejected from this forum, then decided I didn't know what I was doing by defending people on this post as they were "pompom wavers". Taken in context with other comments, I told them that I had received good advice and information from DriVer and was thankful for his advice. Of course they then went ballistic and each went into a long dissertation regarding the WH brake situation and how they had been lied to, etc.

My intention was to stand up for someone who had helped me in the past. I've received many emails and PMs that were complimentary - and appreciated - and understood the situation.

All the "offending" posts, even including one of admonition from the Administrator there, were removed. I tried to contact one of the other protagonists via PM and email to explain my original complaint, but that didn't help. I have no idea what else I could have done other than what I have done, and that is to not get involved on that thread again. Now that I know the history behind the two on RV Forum, things are much more clear to me. However, I still don't understand your comment. As I said to you in my PM/email to you, if there is anything further I can answer or clear up, I'd be happy to.

Again, I didn't say that I was attacked, I said that members of this forum had been. Not that that should make any difference.

And if you were to look now for that thread, you would see that it has been shut down, seems wherever some posters go,they leave trails of closed threads.Like I said,"Better there than here". I just hope that when they show up here with new names, the administrators will protect 'IRV2'

To be honest, it may have already happened, although I sure hope I'm wrong. At any rate, it should just fade away and be forgotten.

golden, let me just say, after reading all your posts here and there, on this subject, you did yourself proud!! . There are some people whose only mission in life it seems is to put others down. I commend you for speaking up in defense of our former moderator on this forum against those individuals who would put him down. Good job!!!
