I have a 1991 chevy workhorse drivetrain. I had my right front caliper freeze and burn up. I replaced both front calipers, bearings, rotors, and flex lines. Then an oring blew in the auto park actuator when i pulled the fitting off to replace the oring three peices fell out a spring, a little black plastic peice, and a small metal cap.i think i got them back in the right but not 100 % sure. Now i have no auto brake and when i run for awhile the fluid comes out teh overflow on the resevoir. Do i have to bleed the actuator or the brake? Any suggestions.

We should be able to figure this out. I have engineering drawings of that actuator that will help us I.D. the parts and make sure they are in there properly. I think you have some other issues going with overtravel, but nothing we can't get the best of.

I do need your email address tho. The info I have to send you is waaay more than we can squeeze into these little boxes on the forum. Send me a Private Message thru the forum system and I'll get right back to you with email.

Something strange here, Bill. I've sent you 5 or 6 emails to the email address you listed above. None of them were "kicked back" so they should be there somewhere.

Sent the first on on 6/5, and the rest on 6/6. We CAN help you fix your problem.

Roger

oldusedbear

Hi,

The fuse for the auto park brake is burning out all the time. I came across another form where I read "the problem was a failed pressure switch at the brake actuator, it shorted to ground blowing F-11... however, with the technical information supplied by oldusedbear, it took 3 hours to..." I was hoping to have some help locate this actuator switch. Is it a certain colour? Any help and/or technical information would be highly appreciated.

Regards

Ed Brake - - We can help you with that problem, but need your email address in order to send the quantity of information that is involved.

You can contact me at oldusedbear@oemys-performance.com

We'll have a few questions and can then get into the troubleshooting and repair. If you're OK with some ordinary mechanical work, this is something you can probably do yourself.

We'll look forward to hearing from you.

Roger - aka oldusedbear

We've still not heard back from Ed Brake. All he needs to do is click on the link in the post before this one, in order to reach oldusedbear.

I'm sure we can help him fix his AutoPark problem.

Old Used Bear,

Thank you very much, I have sent a private message with my email address.
I did not respond as I did not get to the computer yesterday as it was a holiday.

I am actually a Heavy Duty Technician and the ed brake is short for Edmonton Brake & Clutch. Out of Alberta, Canada.

Once again, thanks for the help.

Regards
