Auto park stuck on Winnebago Adventurer Limited 2008.
Hi, Thanks in advance for any help.
Pulling into our resort 2 red lights started to flash and alarm started
going. Was able to get parked. Now I'm stuck with the auto park stuck on.
Dash says hydraulic brake failure, check abs and lights and alarm sounding
when I start the engine. also atc yellow light is on.
This is on Winnebago adventure limited 2008 on a workhorse chases R-26. Last
8of vin# is 34228005.
Any ideas?
John Steller
Thank you.

Here is a link to the procedure on releasing the parking brake on your UFO:

It sounds like you have an issue with the HCU/ECU combo unit

I would recommend having it towed. Not too sure if it will allow it to move with the SAHR disconnected.

Try disconnecting the chassis battery for a couple of minutes and then reconnect. I have cleared the same problem twice on my R26 by doing this.
It is worth a try.

One other thing I can highly recommend from my own experiences is to clean the ground at the HCU end and also clean the ground at the marshalling point on the engine block. This is located on the right side of the engine looking from the back of the coach towards the front. This ground is tied in with multiple others and has a ground strap tied in also.
My unit had a 5 ohm reading before cleaning and less than one ohm after cleaning. Cannot hurt especially since the alarms cleared when you disconnected the battery
Regards

Don't be surprised if the alarm comes back...and if the HCU is failing eventually there will not be enough pressure to release the parking brake or reset the alarm. You should take it to a Workhorse dealer who knows the UFO chassis and have them do an HCU pressure check...take it from me (stuck on the side of the road is no fun) and be pro-active about this.

Gramps,
A bit of the back story. I'm in Az. and had to get the emissions test and watching the tech run the motorhome up to 50mph on the "treadmill" I saw the yellow atc light come on. It was on the return trip back to our resort that the rest of the lights and alarms went off(6 miles). My conspiracy theory is that one thing lead to a another?
Thanks, john

Possible, ATC is auto traction control I guess, still part of the brake system. One thing did lead to another but did the brakes get used while on the treadmill? I can't remember for sure, but I think alarms went off only after using the brakes on my coach. I also had a problem with it taking a long time to come out of auto park after being parked for a few days.

The ATC light came on because the rear tires were turning and the fronts were not, so the ABS system thinks there is a problem. It happens when we have them on our dyno all the time, once pulled off and brought over 5mph the light shuts off.

Thank you Gramps and Ultra rv,
Yes the emissions guy did use the brakes to stop the treadmill.I never had any problems with the park set (delays setting or releasing). So Gramps, do you still think it necessary to have the system pressure tested or am I good to go?
Thanks, John

If it still takes quite a bit of pressure to stop the coach, meaning you don't have to push the pedal far but you do have to press it hard and you don't get any more alarms you should be good to go. If you get another one you should not hesitate to get it checked.
Redlands RV service is seven hours due west and they are good. There may be other Workhorse Service centers closer that are good with the UFO chassis but I don't know who they are.
