Aux A/C Switch

For those of you that have the dual Aux A/C Fans here is a mod to allow you to turn then on manually. These fans are controlled by the ECM & A/C. But, I figured it would be nice to turn them on after you stop for the day or at a rest stop to help during the engine cool down.
I installed a lighted factory switch and a relay to do the job. Why a relay? In the case of high amp draw a standard switch won't cut it. I will be posting the complete project on my Free Web site sometime today. Here are a couple of photo's.

Steve has added code that when a temperature range exists on shut down, the auxiliary cooling fans will continue to spin until the coolant temperature achieves a comfort zone. This is a walk away type feature that really works. 
I don't have the exact temperature values memorized so I did not want to venture a guesstimate.

I tested that for Steve a number of months ago. Although it works you have to have UltarPower or some other ECM updater to get the change.

The factory sets them at 225 on and 214 off, ignition off at 235 and 60 sec.
My previous tune they were set to 220 on and 215 off and the ignition off was set at 235 and 120 sec.
My current tune the cooling fans are now set for 215 on and 210 off, the ignition off is set for 225 and 120 seconds.
My gray matter is slipping as we tested this over a year ago on 2/29/2008.

My set-up is slightly different. I installed a 15 min mechanical 110V timer (bought at one of the big box hardware stores), along with a relay, behind my grill off to one side. I reach in and give it a turn, usually to the 10 min mark. You can really feel the heat being removed, especially after a long run on a hot day.
