My 2005 Bounder computer updates ave gas mileage on a rolling basis rather showing an average until reset like every other vehicle I have owned. Is this normal? Thanks.

I generally don't use that feature but when I have the mpg seems to change with the throttle position. If I put my foot down the mpg goes down, lift my foot and it will show 35 mpg or some other unbelievable number.

Thats what mine does when I select instantaneous mileage. Average mileage should show average for trip, tank, etc. Thanks.

Your post doesn't say, but I presume you have a Workhorse. If so, it is supposedly a rolling average of 50 miles, but I don't think many do, mine is more like 5-10 mile rolling average.

The only figure that is important is the cost per mile for fuel. That is the number that hits your pocket book.

As has been mentioned the Workhorse chassis allows you to select either instantaneous mileage or a 50-mile rolling average, among a bunch of other data available by selecting the appropriate "Mode" and option within the mode...

Yes, That's how it's supposed to work. I use AVG MPG most of the time and it just gives me an idea of what's going on. Nothing yet beats a paper and pencil and a little math especially when you factor in dollars & cents.

I think the MPG & Avg MPG settings are just for entertainment.
I have to say, I have a new engine now but the same LCD IP, I have not seen totally crazy reading like this with the new engine. In fact, the Actia avg MPG readings have been lower and more realistic than my Scan Gauge Avg MPG. That's strange. Makes me wonder if something was going on, long before it blew at less than 30,000 mi.
