I noticed a 2 inch tear on the outer side of the awning, near the edge. Is there any way I can reinforce it?
Thanks!

If you have a marine supply store in your areas get some sail repair tape. If not you can get some awning repair tape at camping world or an rv supply store. Before you apply the tape be sure the awning surface in the vicinity of the tear is clean of all dirt and grease.

There is an awning tape that you can use. I understand it is very sticky and will hold quite well but this is only a temporary fix and even though it is clear it is probably be tacky looking.
Most insurance will cover awning wind damage but you will most likely have to pay a deductible.

I used a small strip of EternaBond and wrapped it around the top and bottom. I got the tape from a sample roll that I got at a Rally. It's been on there for a while now and its holding well in the South Carolina sun.

I cut a piece off a scrap piece of awing material I had and attached it with Shoe-Goo. Color matches and it's been holding for over two years in the rain, wind, and sun
