Price vs performance in my experience indicates that the system alone is not worth the cost.

That said, There are many owners here that have the system. If you operate your motorhome in geographical locations that are not challenged my mountains, the Banks system largely remains disengaged at lower RPMs where most of us to our driving.

Your need to resolve a situation will drive your decision.

Welcome to iRV2.com and please do come back and visit here often.

lofton3786 welcome to irv2 and the Workhorse forum.
You will get more for your money by getting a Ultra Power upgrade for your ECM. The following is a link to shops that can put you on the right track for more power and maybe better mileage as I and many others have.
LINK TO DEALERS IN YOUR AREA
Enjoy the forums and do post often.

lofton3786, I have both the Banks System and the UltraPower. UltraPower wins hands down! Rick

For $800 we (<span class="ev_code_red">UltraPower</span>) can do more than what Banks does for for $2800.

OK I'll bite, which works better, Banks or Ultrapower when driving above 7,000ft pulling hills up to 10,000ft and the RPM's are pushing 4,000?

"Both" The UP will adapt to and compliment the Banks system and together they'll make quite a match made from heaven for the 8.1 under those types of conditions.

US highways above 10,000 feet are very few and far between and few if any motorhome owners transit these types of geographical locations.

I have been there and done that using only UP. It tastes great and it was less filling!

We are only one year into the motorhome life. We have evolved from the bumper pulls to 5th wheels. Now we have got our first of hopefully many motorhomes. The currently all original unit performs okay, but placed this to ask from more experienced motor home owners IF these aftermarket upgrades are actually worth spending the kind of money they cost. So far some good information. We live in central Louisiana, our travels thus far have been to the east coast area with several more planned for Tennessee in the near future.

When we had our 2001 Adventurer 35U on a W-20 chassis. I never felt the need to mess any engine upgrades. We made several trips out west to CA. Everything ran fine stock.

I'm with you rvten, I don't feel the need for speed. Now if I ever see an equivalent motorhome to mine pass me going up hill like I was standing still, I will have to see what he has under his hood.

For the areas you will be driving, I would recommend the UltraPower as the best "bang for the buck". Rick
