2002 W-22 Four Winds Infinity, 6 yrs old, 28,000+ miles had complete failure of Battery Control Center (that mysterious Black Box under the hood), Intellitec Part # 000524-400 replaced by newer model 000524-100. This item is not supposed to fail, but if one of the main battery contacts is loose, it will fail. Apparently ours was not tight.
Our precipitating event was an overcharging alternator. While taking the rig to the shop, it completely died. When the Battery Control Center fails, you have nothing for ignition, auxiliary start, lights, etc.
We were lucky ours died in town and close to a tech who was able to start the coach from another connection with a portable battery starter and get it to the shop to fix. Just wanted to let owners know this is a possibility, probably fairly rare (aren't we lucky?!), but something to be aware of. Anyone else have this experience?
Ms. Jean in Arizona, Thor 4 Winds, 34W, towing 2002 Chrysler T&C, all wheelchair set-up for spouse, Frank.
