I was just looking over my AC schematic and I see there is a Binary Pressure Switch. Do any of you know if this is an off/on switch like binary refers to or does
it mean on/off/on? Does it just turn the condenser fan on when the high side pressure gets too high or does it do something else also? I have a 03 Dolphin 5355 on Workhorse chassis.
Thanks for any info

Lee, I am not sure about the fans, but this switch usually cuts out the A/C compressor in the event of low pressure on this side of the circuit.

Thanks for the reply Dieselclacker. I guess I could take the harness off the switch and see what happens and then short the two terminals on the harness together and then see what happens while the AC is operating. I am sure there is no computer in the circuit so I cannot damage anything. Thanks for finding the correct URL Ding.

It appears there are 3 wires from this switch, which is located on the high side of the system.
One wire goes to the condenser fan relay, more than likely turning it on/off.
One wire goes thru the low side pressure switch then to the panel control.
One wire goes to the computer.

My thought is the wire from the control panel starts the sequence, and is in series with the low and high pressure switches, to the cpu. Either switch can turn off the compressor by opening.

The high pressure switch might be 2 stage, first stage turns on condensor fans, second stage turns off the compressor. Or the switch is 1 stage, where the condensor fans operate anytime AC is on, and opens only under high pressure being above spec.
