Blowing Fuses

Hello,
I have a 2007 Allegro Bay on a W-22 chassis with 16k miles. On the trip We are presently on, while driving during a rain storm, with the headlights on, the dash lights went out, the digital read-out still works as well as all the gauges. I checked all of the fuses and found a 10 amp fuse under the dash was burnt. I replaced it, all ok until I turned on the headlights and the fuse immediatly burnt again. Any thoughts on the cause.

Replace the fuse and have someone stand outside in front of you, then turn on the headlights. If one of the headlights doesn't come on, it could be shorted . Replace headlight, problem solved! Hope this works.

The Headlights work just fine, its just the dashboard ilumination lights that do not work. Its makes it hard to read the gauges at night, Mph, Temp, etc.
Thanks for the response.

R.Shomo, That fuse is located in the coach builder's panel under or on top of the dash. Look for fuse location #14 "ILLUM."

Fuse blowing

I had a similiar problem. The ILLUM fuse kept blowing. I had to replace the cluster at a tone of $450. Problem solved. Hopefully your problem was just the fuse.............

Well I did some further checking, and the lo beam headlights work but not the hi beams or the 2 front clearance lights on each side just above the wheels. Neither hi beams work, so I tried disconnecting both hi beam lights(un-plugged the connector) and replaced the fuse. Turned on the lights and burnt the fuse again. By the way, Driver, it is the fuse panel under the dash. All fuses in the panel above the dash are OK.
I appreciate the help, hopifuly it won't lead to the Instru. Panel replacement as I have read of people having numerous problems with them.
Thanks,
R.Shomo
