Trek,
My experience with any dual eletrode plug in any 2 valve engine has been the same. The engines run good for about 4,000 miles and then the idle quality deteriorates. The theory is that the first ground electrode burns off a bit and the spark starts jumping to the other. This now starts the flame front in a spot in the combustion chamber that is not conducive to a clean, consistent burn. We have no scientific proof of this, but a lot of knowledgable people in the auto industry seem to agree.
