We have heard these type comments before if we cannot move on with our new calipers than I would guess there will be not be brake posts in the future on this forum.

I agree with "007". But you know the saying,

Picked up the MH today . They only dreplaced the calipers and front brake pads. The bill was $86.00. So I was happy.
Now if this just ends all the problems I have had with them overheating and locking up I will be a happy camper.

Driver I have a 2004 Gulfstream Sun Voyager, I just turned 22000 miles. My biggest problem has been the brakes. When traveling I was on pins and needles because of the numerous times I was able to smell them. I even bought a temp gun and when I would smell them I would pull over and take temp. If I found one hot I would stop and let them cool off. It always seemed to happen when I would be in an area where I had to stop several times in a row, like going through a town.

darbyjudy, That will all be behind you now and you can burn that bridge. Happy camping and enjoy your motorhome. !

PS: Do you find that the ground clearance on your tail pipes is somewhat lacking??? Gulfstream brings their body panels down really low compared to a Winnie for example.

Mike

Let's not shoot the messenger boys. I think DriVer rates a 10 on a 0 to 10 scale.

Joe: FWIW, I happen to agree with you. However we seem to have a few members here that persist in taking "pot shots" and insist on bring up the past, regardless of its relavence to what is today's reality.

This forum's mission statement says we are to "support thoughtful exchange of knowledge......." and making posts ABOUT other members is not what we are susposed to be doing here, IMO.

Driver, yes it is quite low and I never realized it until I have dropped the rear wheel into a pot hole and scraped the bottom of a couple of the storage doors. Also make it rough to get under it in order to do any maintance when you are the size I am. My big belly gets in the way. Once I get by the storage doors I have plenty of room in the middle. I try to be careful and watch for the places that will give me trouble. Other than that though we like the coach pretty well.

Thank you for your response. My concerns then was justified. We were having a discussion about tailpipes in another thread ...

Well I returned home yesterday from the first trip since the calipers were replaced. I beleive this is the first time since buying the MH that I haven't smelled the brakes while on a trip. It felt so good knowing that this problem is over. It seems to be moving along the road much better. Also when I stop it doesn't pull one way or the other. Like I said before I had the overheating problem from day one and even though the calipers were replaced one time before it still never way right. Thanks Workhorse for replacing my calipers with the new type.

Wishing you many happy days.
