Brake controller

I know that this has been covered before, but I just got my 1st MH - 2004
Tiffin Allegro Bay 36 on the Workhorse chassis.
I need to tow a trailer with electric brakes, and my MH has a 7 pin connector
on it that definitely looks to be factory installed. It has the heavier (say 12 ga.)
blue wire connected and a smaller blue wire on a separate post.
I looked in the cab for a blue wire - without stripping wire bundle covering - but I did find one small connector about a half inch square, just hanging loose.
No other loose wires or plugs.
Where should I look?

If you hook a jumper wire to the connector terminal with the heavy blue wire and run it to ground on the frame you can use an ohmmeter at the harness to find a blue wire showing continuity between the correct blue wire and a ground to the frame. The ohmmeter will show 0 ohms when you connect to the correct blue wire. To confirm you have the correct wire remove the jumper at the plug. If the ohmmeter goes to infinity you have the correct wire.

I found the wires under the dash and checked continuity. There are three (3) wires. A 12ga. blue, a 16ga. blue and a 16ga. dark green. They were each in a separate wire protector and then bundled up together behind where the steering wheel is. Tight as can be, especially with the ac/heater flex duct everywhere. The wires were loose and not connected to anything, just taped at the ends. I'm sure that the brake controller instructions will tell me what to do.

Would it be appropriate here to ask what Brake Controller brand you have selected? I will need to purchase one in the next month or so. I have been looking at the ones sold by Camping World. But they have a couple different models.
