Hi all;
I was checking the brake fruid on a 2003 Georgie Boy W22 and the fliud seemed sticky at the lid. I can only check the left side because the lid on the right is covered by the fuse box put on by Georgie Boy. I can put a metal rod in the left one to check the level and it shows 3/4 full. Any help is appreciated

I recently put up a post about changing the brake fluid in my Georgie Boy W20 chassis. Ours must be laid out differently than your coach since I could get to both caps. When I was drawing the old fluid out of the reservoir, I noticed both sides were going down so apparently both sides are connected. Anyway, I also noticed a few sticky "globs" of coagulated brake fluid. I would recommend flushing the brake fluid, if nothing else because of the age of the fluid.

Thanks Don and Kim for the advice. From reading other post, I think it is time to change the fliid

I'm not certain of this analysis but your brakes may have overheated and boiled the brake fluid a few times.

I noticed same gobs at day one on my MH. Workhorse service center (Earnhardt in Mesa) said this "textured" consistancy was normal in the workhorse. That was 3 1/2 years ago. Have not had any brake fluid issues since then and fluid is still very clear but not as when new. I guess dry Az climate helps keep the moisture absorption down.

I use a small mirror and a flashlight. The fluid should be flush with the base of the 2 openings in the reservoir.

You should be aware of the fact that since the brake pads have no return mechanism, and are in near constant contact with the rotors, that the master cylinder reservoir will not stay full. The level will go down as the brake pads wear.
If the reservoir is too full at brake pad replacement time, fluid will be forced out of it when the caliper pistons are forced back into a position to make room for the new and thicker pads.
