I just got done changing our brake fluid today. I installed the Speedbleeders that I had bought last fall from Oemy. It was an easy operation and I had the fluid changed in no time at all. Before I did it myself I called my local service garage for an estimate of cost for him to do it---$140.00! I went to local Farm and Fleet and purchase 3 quarts and 1 pint of Dot 3 brake fluid for $13.00. I also bought 1 of those squeeze bulb siphons to suck the fluid out of the brake reservoir. About an hour later I was done. Let's see---$140.00 plus waiting for an appointment or $13.00 for brake fluid, $5.00 for siphon, and 1 hour and some dirty hands later I'm done. Decisions, decisions, which one should I do?

Easyrider,

Thats a no brainer!! I also bought the speed bleeders and installed them on my rig when I got tired of waiting on the recall so I bought 3 loaded calipers for $95 a piece (WH replaced my right rear caliper in Aug 09)and installed them along with the speed bleeders. I also just replaced my shocks--I got the Bilsteins--wow what a difference in the ride!! Happy RVing!!!!

Don't forget to remove your speed bleeders before, if and when, your calipers are replaced under the so called recall!

Easyrider, you didn't include the cost of the speed bleeders. How much was that?

I have a 2002 32H Bounder on a W22 chassis. I'm curious about the speed bleeders. Will they fit on the new "to be" calipers that will come out someday? I still have the original calipers on my rig..
Thanks,

Al, It is expected and it is highly likely that the casting will not change on the recall calipers. I have a set of Speed Bleeders and I am holding them in reserve for installation after I have the recall calipers installed.

I don't remember how much the speedbleeders cost but I don't think it was much or I wouldn't have gotten them. Oemy's web site would have the cost I think. The funny thing about this is when I went to the Farm and Fleet to get brake fluid they had their house brand "Dot 3" for $4.00 a quart with a 475 degree boiling point or "Super Dot 3" with a boiling point of 450 degrees for $6.00 a quart! $2.00 more per quart and 25 degree lower boiling point? What's so "super" about that?

Mike, hope you don't need to call them out of reserve to "speed bleed" before we get this RECALL done. Sorry couldn't resist.

Hi everyone!
What a great forum for providing information and instruction for maintaining my Workhorse W22 motor home chassis.
This is my first post on this forum, but I have been reading for several months.

I just wanted to say that I just changed out my brake fluid using the "Speed Bleeders" that I purchased from Omey's website. Like others on this forum, after installation of new speed bleeders, the tasks was very simple and easy to accomplish.

I have a 2006 motor home with the W22 chassis and have been reading and following the many different threads about my chassis.

It was through this forum, that I became aware that my brake fluid needed to be changed.

Thanks again for the helpful information
