brake maintenance

Don't know if anybody else has experienced this, but on my 98 P32 the brakes did not want to release after aplied, had to phisically pull up on the pedal each time I stepped on it.After inspection, found dry and sticking linkage under coach for hydro-boost.A liberal spray of lube at all pivots cured this problem.I think this is easy P.M. maintenance (at least yearly) because if hydro-boost isn't released, accumulator pressure drops, and you basically have no power assist.I never gave this any thougt until it scared the heck out of me.

There is a bellcrank under the hood on the brake linkage. There should be a grease zerk where it pivots on the shaft. Easy to miss when doing chassis lube. Some came from Workhorse without the zerk. Fairly easy DIY project to install if yours does not have one.
Go to www.oemys-performance.com and look under tech tips. It shows the location and installation of the zerk.

az bound, Thank you for your recommendation however one needs to point out that the differences between the P Series and W Series are remarkable in that the brake linkage from one to the other is completely different.

You know I actually built up some technology on the backs of 2 Airstream P Series rigs back in the day for GTE SuperPages. The coach came bare walled and had 2 generator sets installed on the street side. The floor on the thing was about 1 1/2" thick plywood. Very solid coach.

We sure loved our Airstream, wish they still made them. We looked at some used Airstreams before buying the Siena but they had not been well maintained. The future will tell where the Siena compairs.
