Hi all..
I have my W20 registered on the Workhorse site. It shows a warantee start date of 08/07/07 which I assume is also the manufacture date. This date is before the stated cutoff date in Dec for brake problems but the site shows that I have no open or closed campaigns. So the question is - do I or do I not have the brake problem??
Larry

Larry, The warrranty start date is not the same as the build date but I could check that for you if you need to know that information.
As of right now you are not involved with the "Group" of owners that are effected by the Interim Notice.
Do I expect that you will be a candidate for the resolution to the Bosch Caliper recall, Yes I believe so. In the NHTSA recall information we see manufactures stated as including 2009 -2010 coach models so I do expect that you will be included in the campaign once that gets under way.
Do you have bad brakes right now - I would bet that you do not. It takes time for the problem to manifest sometimes as much as 5 to 7 years. The latest recommendation is to replace your brake fluid every 2 years. This will help you however if may not in of itself keep a problem from developing in later years.

Hello Driver
The warantee date is the only date given so I was wondering if that was also the build date.
I don't have any problems at the moment. I live in the desert, drive the coach regularly. and have changed the fluid recently. Hopefully that will keep problems at bay.
Larry

Larry, That's the ticket! Stay the course, be proactive and stay in touch with the folks in this forum. Everyone here contributes good information about this issue as it impacts their ownership. Hopefully that should be useful to you in your ownership.
For the latest information about this issue visit the website at www.workhorse.com/brakeresourcecenter and stop in from time to time to pickup on the conversation here about the Bosch calipers.

My 2004 W20 chassis is included in the VINs affected if I look at the brake recall webpage, but nothing is listed in "Open Campaigns" when I look at "My Motorhome" on the WH website. Is this just a matter of the CS department being behind the power curve on updates to the site, or something different?

wilanddij, None of the owner records are indicating that a recall is open at this time. When the campaign is launched look for an open 50901-C Campaign to be listed on your "My Workhorse." That campaign will remain open until it's cleared.

AFAIK, the open campaign will show up in the info under "my motorhome" only AFTER the campaign is actually launched. I don't believe any of us subject to the recall see an "open campaign" for the brake recall at the present time.

Lary, and anyone else with this situation, you may be able to extend your warranty. You warranty is supposed to start when the motorhome was originally sold, NOT the date it was built. The dealers are supposed to inform Workhorse when the motorhome was sold but very few do so Workhorse goes by the build date. If you contact Workhorse and send them a copy of the sales contract they will adjust your warranty. This happened to me when I tried to get some warranty work done and was informed it was out of warranty when in fact it wasn’t.

FT, Good post! I've helped a number of folks become listed as the owner of record.
If anyone needs a bit of help, let me know.

If the original purchaser's dealer handled things correctly, the warranty date should be the date the original owner signed the final papers and picked up the motorhome from the dealer for the first time. There should also be an indication on the Workhorse site of "Delayed Mileage" for your unit, which takes delivery and any test drive mileage into account.

Hi correct me if I am wrong but a recall is not the same as warranty.
I purchast a 2004 Georgie Boy in 2009 with a workhorse chasse. It had recalls end repairs where done free of charge.

Dagger, A warranty expires for example in 3 years or 36,000 miles whichever comes first. A Recall "never" expires and must be resolved on the vehicle free of change as long as the campaign remains open.
