Hi all. this week I had my appointment at my local Workhorse ASC in Colorado Springs, CO., and arrived at 0700 hrs. for the Brake Recall. My instructions were to change the Brake Pads if needed, install the Speed Bleeders on the new calipers, inspect and turn the rotors if needed and flush the brake fluid.

At 1200 hours, I received a call from the dealer stating all work had been completed and my unit was ready to be picked up.

1. Calipers replaced
2. Speed Bleeders installed: No Charge
3. No new brake pads needed as mine looked "almost new".
4. Brake Fluid Flush: No Charge even though 3 quarts were used.
5. Rotors looked great with no cracks or much wear.

So all in all, I will rate my local ASC an A+ as my brakes now are as good as new.....almost!

I also wanted to add that there are 141 chassis on the waiting list behind me for this ASC to call and schedule. Carol (Service Writer) told me that they are set up to complete about 3 chassis recalls/day.

I also want to thank OEMY for the work he did during this past year on the Speed Bleeders for our unit. Carol was quite impressed with these and she said I was the second unit that wanted these installed on their new calipers.

The ASC here is tagging the calipers and they are being stored in an old school bus behind the building. Over 50 coaches have been cycled through the dealership here in Myrtle Beach. It is uncertain if the old calipers are or have been requested to be returned to WCC or Uptime. Who would have the room to store 200,000 old calipers and they what would they do with them.

Ever hear of "Burning Man" ?

We could have a rally with the "Burning of the calipers"! Throw on a little used brake fluid and wala!

Have them bored to accommodate new pistons then store them for the next recall, maybe it won`t take so long

Happy to report, we had our brake recall completed today at Class A RV Repairs in Pipe Creek, TX at no additional charge to us. Due to previous problems, our rotors had less than 5,000 miles and the old calipers and pads had less than 3,000. Everything checked out fine, the new calipers were installed, the brake fluid topped off, and we were on our way . . . . what a relief! Hopefully our confidence in this chassis and Workhorse will increase as time goes by.

And yes, I did give Class A RV Repairs a "highly recommended" endorsement on the WH rate a service center site as they were very efficient, professional and got the job done timely! We are, after two years of anguish, once again "happy campers"!

Please consider extending the pleasure that you will enjoy with your new brakes by accomplishing a brake fluid flush every 2 years or 24,000 miles WCF. This comes directly from the National Service Director.

I do not have concern in regard to a follow on seizure however brake fluid degrades in performance over time. Having excellent brake fluid assures outstanding performance.

DriVer, thanks for the reminder. We have been changing the brake fluid annually since this problem manifested and will continue that procedure.

Just had my WH brake recall done at Alpin Haus, Workhorse dealer in Amsterdam NY. All went well.

1. Calipers replaced
2. No new brake pads needed as mine looked "almost new".
3. Brake Fluid Flush: They Charged me $ 150.00
4. Rotors looked great with no cracks or much wear.

I'm very happy with the work done at Alpin Haus....

Not sure why my pads that came off were "chipped" but they were. Never seen this before on any pads, has anyone else? Right in the center of the pads aresmall chips. No pad transfer to the rotors, and the dealer also said they have never seen this before. only 19,000 miles on the pads and the old rotors also. Anyone?? I Have a picture but it is too big to post and I don't know how to shrink it.
