Brake recall not done apparently

Now where do I go with this? VIN 5B4MP67G123350411. I was lubing the chassis yesterday and noticed 66 is cast into all 4 calipers. Ran the VIN on the federal site and it has 2 open recalls. Will Navistar still honor the recall?

I'm happy to report that you don't need to worry about that.

According to the WCC warranty database, that is a 2002 W-22 with 19.5" wheels. The first "brake" recall was 50401-C, and it was completed 4-19-06 at 11,482 miles. The second recall, 50101-C, to replace the defective Bosch calipers was completed 1-21-2011 at 33,513 miles. There are no other recalls for that chassis. If you want the build sheet that shows this info, send an email to: edgray1@gmail.com so I can attach it to a reply. Put your screen name OR the vin # in the subject line.

Just because a website shows that recalls existed, does not mean they were not completed. AFAIK, there isn't any other website that actually keeps track of recalls completed-but there are plenty that report about recalls issued

OBTW, even the "new" calipers provided by the recall have the same CASTING number. The "new" calipers have a date code STAMPED into them immediately under the casting number and the first date code was "0155A", so any number higher than that proves the caliper was made after the recall was official.
