The Workhorse website has been updated to provide links to recall info.
There is also a new feature which allows owners to enter their vin # and get feedback confirming "if" their chassis will be included in the recall.

This is good News indeed!
Everything that an owner needs to know about the issue is available all in one place and that should help owners manage their concerns about their brakes much more efficiently without having to go to 3rd party resources.
When we do hear anything in the pipeline that sounds like News you can rest assured that we'll be more than enthusiastic to share that information with you right here!
Do I think that you folks here have had input about getting this resource established! You bet!

I see where additional documents have recently been added to the "library" portion of the resource center. ED

The documentatiuon that we have been providing here on iRV2 about the brake systems is now centralized on the workhose.com webpage which now includes braking weight tables. Also provided are documents in support of auxilliary braking requiremetns, flushing of brake fluid and mountain driving.
When you enter your VIN# in the inquiry box, you see see immediately if you are included in the recall. Click HERE:

Please enter your 17 digit Vehicle Identification Number below. Your VIN will begin with 5B4.
[5B4MP67GX3nnnnnn ] [GO ] [Clear ]
Your VIN is included.
The result to the inquiry given above will show in plain language whether or not your chassis " IS INCLUDED"

Just to update everyone, I think you will see that the Resource Center page is almost constantly being updated. It has changed since I looked at it earlier today.
Most noteable, IMO, is the addition of a letter from the VP. You can find it by using the original link to the RC, or just take this "shortcut": http://www.workhorse.com/portals/0/J...ghan%20let.pdf

Ed, This is a very nice and much apprecitated letter from Workhorse. Had this letter been posted a year or so ago it would have soothed many ruffled feathers much sooner and avoided a lot more "wringing of hands".

In his "letter" Jim wrote: "Your confidence in Workhorse is extremely important to us, and we are committed to restoring that confidence fully and as quickly as possible."
Interesting use of the word "quickly"....
He did accept accountability and did appologize, and for that I give "KUDO's"
"I want to apologize for the disruption and concerns this issue may have caused to our customers and our partners."
Here is my take (opinion) on this piece of PR...
Blah, Blah, Blah...ra ra WH..we are moving at a snails pace to get you (and the Government) off our backs..
You have called and asked so many tough questions that we have had to add additional people just to handle the volume of phone and e-mail traffic!
We're proud of how we operate and I'm sorry that you were inconvinienced by that and because of our lack of urgency in dealing with this issue when it first surfaced, I'm so sorry that your chassis cannot be used without fear of death or injury, and I'm also sorry that your investment in our product has lost much of its value. I'm sure though that in 3 years you'll have forgotten all about this and will return to sending us your money!
He is in a tough spot and I appreciate that there is much of this out of his control. But I have seen some presidents "put on the pressure" to get things done in a timely fashion, and in consideration of how long this has gone on, find it difficult to believe that "all efforts" were undertaken or that this was approached with a "sense of urgency".

I had to have the Right Rear Caliber/fixed/changed, on a trip, LAST April 09. I still look at the notice that the recall fix would start around Oct/09, now it is said to be around Late Summer/10. Very frustrating. I have done about 20,000 mile of the 30,000 + miles in Heavy Mtn. driving, but with all the knowledge I have now, I try to avoid all the places that will stress my brake system. Not what I really like to do.

It certainly convenient to be totally disengaged from this issue yet be able to interject whatever spin on this issue you chose that suits your editorial posture at the moment.

We certainly are familiar with "spin" here.

roguii, I believe what you are speaking about is concern for a issue and we all share that with you. Using knowledge that we have offered here, in mountains one needs to use a lot of select shifting an auxiliary brake and to perform as much proactive maintenance for the time being that will help extend the onset of problems. If you are driving at all you fit the "damn the torpedo's profile" that I wrote about and I commend you for that.
I would say that mountain driving could be a routine environment if one drives with a heads up attitude. No one can foretell when a seizure will occur, even during a wheels off inspection, one would not be able to visualize that a problem is imminent.
The timeline is absolutely the worst thing that we are dealing with and I am like everyone else in wanting to move this process forward as rapidly as possible.
