Where is the max fill mark for the brake fluid reservoir? Can only see inside with an inspection mirror and a light. With the new fluid it's even harder to see. Just want to be sure I am not over full.

The full mark on the brake reservoirs is level with the bottom of the fill hole. Very similar to the picture you get when you're adding water to a battery cell.

There's nothing better than flashlight and mirror to do this job with. I cringe when folks say that they stick their finger in the fill hole to check the level.

If its anything like my Ford, I try to keep a few popcicle sticks that I have marked. After they dry out, they can be used again.

Thanks Driver--- After looking a little closer I did see the ring with the V notches. These eyes are not as good as they were 20 years ago. Doesn't seem like they are giving much room for expansion. You would think they would have designed a reservoir with at least a clear strip site gauge. Using a funnel, inspection mirror and a flashlight makes hitting the mark tricky. Hopefully this keeps me okay until the recall.

I have to use my fingers since the plastic is opaque and you can't see through it. But I lick off my fingers after so that I won't mark the paint.
I like the popcicle stick idea though.

Not meaning to hijack the thread but it brings up a question.

Why does the fluid reservoir have two fill caps? The inside seems to be one large space.

I believe the chambers are common to about 1/2 the way down the reservoir.
