Brakes and Steering not working

I've checked and everything has fluid, no puddles beneath. I was making a sharp turn on bumpy lawn, heard a pop outside and no power brakes nor power steering. Booster and master cylinder replaced 6 mo ago.

Any ideas where to look now? Fuses? Hose crimped?

Thanks!

If your power steering fluid reservoir is full and no broken or split hoses, then I would suspect pump failure, just a wild guess.

Good luck with the fix, & please let us know the results...

Only thing common to the brakes and power steering is the serpentine belt that drives them.

Have you ever had the serpentine belt replaced and, if not, do it now.

From the Workhorse Cassis Guide:
Hydro-Boost system receives hydraulic pressure from the power steering pump to assist with the effort required to operate braking system. Hydro-Boost unit is located between the brake pedal linkage and the master cylinder. When the brake pedal is depressed, linkage moves the pushrod into the master cylinder to create hydraulic brake pressure. The hydraulic brake booster is supplied hydraulic pressure from the power steering pump assisting with the movement of the pushrod into the master cylinder. This in turn lowers the amount of effort required by the operator.

So the power steering and the brake system are run from the power steering pump. I would start there.

I'm betting the "pop" was the power steering belt letting go....

Yes you can, just be sure to get all the old belt out from behind the pulleys

The V-belt, (or serpentine belt), on the engine pulleys that drives the engine mounted hydraulic PS, (power steering), PB, (power brake), pump.

About $60 for the belt.

Replace the idler pulley while you are in there.

Those go bad a lot, usually noisy...about $20.
