The wiring for the knock sensor, the plug for the sensor and the battery cable (8.1L motor) have burned due to the lack of a heat shield on my headers. The heat shield was installed when the Banks headers were originally installed but it looks like the welds broke and it came off. There were no electrical failures or fire caused by this condition only because it was caught in time. This is on a 2004 Winnebago 32 ft. Brave.

The problem is that the sensor plug welded itself to the sensor and it is, so far, impossible to remove the sensor because King Kong apparently was working on the line the day the motor was built.

Has anyone else had this problem and if you have, how did you remove the sensor? That thing is screwed in very tight.

Any tips or hints would be very helpful.
