buzzer like sound with a/c on

We have an 08 Bounderon WH chassis, when acelerating I can sometimes hear what sounds like a buzzer under the dash, this periodicaly ocurrs only with the dash a/c on. I remember reading ( i thought here) some thing similar, anybody else have this or remember reading a thread about it?

aquestrian, Welcome to iRV2.com please come back and visit us often.

Which model of Workhorse do you have? W20/22 or W24? It might help us DX your condition.

chassis

Our Bounder sits on a W24 Wolhorse Chassis. Its a a dealer now for a problem with Inst. cluster, blowen left catal. converter and when I said about the noise I got this look. But I know I read about other owners wit the same periodic buzz.

OK that helps! I expect that our w24 owners may pick up on this if it has been experienced. My "guess" might suggest the park brake buzzer or in my specific experience with my coach it was a sticky jack down alarm.

Buzzers may be related to the coach body as well as the chassis.

follow up

As I should have further mentioned, this only periodically occurs when A/C is switched on and the MH is accelerating and goes away when the trans. shifts into 2nd or third gear. If I turn off A/c the sound also stops.

Mine did that exact same thing. Turned out to be the a/c clutch going bad. Wound up replacing the compressor and clutch, glad it was under warranty. Only had 4500 miles on it.

My W20 did it. AC compressor was changed out under warranty, and the buzz went away. Now, after about a year, the new compressor is doing the same thing. When I posted a question about it, some folks indicated that they had been living with it for as much as two years without any other problems.

My 2004 -W22 has done this for several years now. I live in Florida and use the A/C a lot but so far the compressor is still going strong, but noisy when you take off in first gear until it shifts.
