I've read all the posts about brake problems. My mh is coming up on three years and I would like to have the rotors inspected and caliper pins lubed before the warranty ends. Can anyone give me a ball park cost for this?
Also, any cost info on cost of coolant change?
Thanks for any info.

It will depend on the shop rate and hours charged, and could vary quite a bit. Proper way is to remove wheels, remove inspect clean and lube caliper and slider pins, replace any bad/worn parts, re-assemble.
I don't see where warranty has any bearing, this is considered routine maintenance --- unless you have the Bosch calipers that were on a campaign --
Chassis year is 10th digit of Vin#

RamblinFever, In NE Ohio, I had the work done for $125 per axle. My '04 Winnie Brave is just shy of being 4 years old now... On all 4 wheels, I had the caliper slide pins lubed, calipers inspected for full retraction, and rotors and pads inspected.

troth, thanks for the info. It helps to have a ball park when shopping.
Mike, I was concerned about the condition of the rotors and other components you can't see unless the wheels are removed. I remember reading that someone discovered cracked rotors shortly after their warranty expired, and don't want the same experience.

I recently had a lot of work done on my W-20 chassis after a brake failure. The authorized workhorse shop that did the work said that a cleaning and lube of all four calipers lube pins would cost 5 hours of labor at $100.00 per hour. He said the rig should be brought in after 12 months or 12k miles.

$500.00.......Yep, and I told him that I had a bridge in Brooklyn to sell him.
This is why folks sometimes do their own maintenance, which is what I will do in 12000 miles.

After my rear brakes were heat checked the second time, I had the rear pads
replaced in Webster,Mass. in July 07. All caliber PINS were removed and lubed.
I dont know JUST what was lubed, PINS, PINS and CALIBERS?? Most likely just
pins!!!The pads cost $160, and 2 hr. labor ($75hr.) total was $400 out the
door. I gotta check my bill, the math is not right, I hope they didnt
charge $90. for shop supplies !!!!
I talked to the MOchanic, he said that half of their brake jobs are because
of frozen calibers, because of all the salt used up north!! I did get my
old pads,as they were not that bad I would not have replaced them.
But it was not my call and my friend said that in Mass.they have one
lawyer for ever civilan, and most are looking for a CASE to apply their
chosen profession!!!!!TENN......COASTIE I DID NOT SEE YOU IN BRISTOL??
Im thinking 3hr. labor, as I think back!!!!!!!

Tenn, sorry I missed you at Bristol but when I was holding up one of those placards for the big card show prior to the cup race, we just all looked alike....blended in with the rest of the NASCAR crazies.
Just got back from 4 nites camping down in Chattanooga and didn't see your post until tonight. We stayed at the Best Holiday CG off Exit 1 and had a good time doing the tourist stuff. By the way, got to exercise the new brakes on the W-20 going up and down the mountain on Hyw 111 that goes from US 27 to US 127 as well as the hill on US 127 coming out of Crossville. The new brakes, Brake Buddy and tranny did great...especially the Allison tranny!

is really possible to do ourselves? The only part that worries me is getting the wheels off...Te fronts don't concern me,it's the rear duals. Now I may be in a bit better position than most here as I have a P32, not a W series. So I would think my 5 bolt 19.5's would be easier to deal with.
