I'm, thinking that 2lbs of plastic explosives should do the trick.

PROBLEM SOLVED, Frozen Transmission Cable

The transmission cable is frozen in Drive. For the last 125,000 miles The Transmission cable was rubbing against the 2003 Sightseer Winnebago frame and auxiliary heater hose at the dog house opening. The frame interference caused rust in the cable. The heater hose melted and wore away the plastic cover only, see picture.
The frame location is circled and a close up is shown.
All of this was hidden by the splash shield that also had a hidden bolt where the screw driver is.
Cable is being replaced with AutoZone PN 850500 TCI Auto/5 ft 3 in stroke shifter cable.
While I am waiting on the cable, the steering wheel assembly that I erroneously disassembled has to be reassembled.
Any Volunteers?

Package up the parts, manual and tools , and ship it up to me , I've got 6 days of rain in the forecast. If it's here in the AM, I'll get right on it.

Failure cause correction

The contact spots on the Winnebago chassis were not the reason for failure. Failure was a jam-up between the inner plastic cable sleeve at the transmission end and the sliding core cable. See picture of bottom three items.
Inside the metal collar to cable body interface destructive magic happened that caused the inner plastic sleeve (probably high molecular weight polyethylene) to grab the cable's inner core on the spiral, so it could not be moved.
The steering column end exhibited a mild binding also that can be felt while moving the core cable.
Most plastics cold flow, so with the help of heat by the transmission and behind the exhaust manifold, the plastic sleeve became form fitted around several inches of spiral of the inner core.
Thanks to the Dremmel Tool for the sectioning.

Hi Skip426
Thanks for hanging with me with encouragement.
Just noticed you are in British Columbia. It is a very scenic province. We traveled over the Rockies using the Casiar to meet up with the Alaska Highway. An incredibly beautiful drive over endless gravel. Unforgettable RV park by a clear glassy lake.

We were set to tour the Yukon/ Alaska, this past June, but couldn't make it. Tour group fell apart. Probably going to have to go alone next year.
I was born here and still (in more years than I care to admit) haven't seen it all. DW, wants to tour the US, south east, but that revolves around the price of diesel, It's on the bucket list. I've got about 10 states to get through, to complete the lower 48.
Hope you have the opportunity to tour this way again. Now that you're mobile.
BTW; any left over parts from the column ?

Hi Skip426
Hope you make it to the lower 48.
My mother told me that my last suit won't have any pockets, so I live accordingly. Have 125,000 miles on 30 ft Sightseer (90%+ self maintenance).
I admire Charles Kuralt of CBS fame "On the road with Charles Kuralt" (Amazon). Also enjoy natural wonders, people, and am still curious "what's around the bend".
The best to you
Gary

correction
TCI 850500 does not have the 1/4-28 threads at the ends. Have to return shifter cable.
