We are buying a 2003 Dolphin LX on a W22 chassis. VIN is 5B4MP67G723348792. A local WH repair facility determined that there is an open recall 51101-C and is trying to get the OK to do the fix.

CarFax showed that in 11/2004 the original owner had a Chevy dealer do recall 50401-C: new dust boots, ABS light coming on at times, replaced the ABS module pump. Did this negate the need for 51101-C ? Probably not, but I need to ask.

No info on recall 50901-C. As I read, it is an interim fix until the "real" recall which is 51101-C. Correct?

The WH website is a bit confusing to me to sort out what's what.

Can someone help? We had a P32 chassis before, never a W-series.

Thank you

You are correct, The recall needs to be done with the new calipers 51101-C. Be prepared that there may be additional costs involved in this recall.

51101-c is the replacement of all four calipers. Replacement started in september of 2010. If it hasn't been completed it should be.

As a component of the 51101-C, If a previous recall exists that has not been closed on the RV, that campaign will be closed as well.

The expense that you may incur would be for wear and tear items such as pads and rotors. You may want to negotiate this point with the dealer prior to the sale.

I am happy to say the W/H dealer got approval to do the recall work AND the selling dealer picked up all of the cost. It sounded like WCC came up with free calipers.

Thank you, Lord

Divine intervention aside, WCC has a mandatory recall going (51101-C) so you certainly did have the calipers coming. The fact that the dealer is picking up the expense for wear and tear items on the other hand is commendable.
