I took this picture of my IP when we were coming home from Cape Hatteras, NC earlier this month. I hope you can make it out if not go here and click on the picture to get it in full size.

9.1 MPG

The running configuration at the time was 50 to 55 MPH on a 55 MPH posted road, "D"rive (5th gear), less than 1800 RPM indicated on Scan Gauge II.

Now here's the bad news I did not have my camera ready on the way out when I actually saw 10.0 MPG on the "Average: mode setting.

Honest! I kid you not.

I have seen mine go up to 12 for a sec or two but I was running downhill with a tailwind at the time.

I've been getting between 9-10 mpg driving at 60-65mph for the last two years. Sorry older P30 with 454 and slightly modified 4L80E transmission.

Good pic!

Remember, the Workhorse IP is "optimistic" by about 1 1/2 mpg....

Although 007 now gets 11 MPG since he installed the Ultrapower!

I just checked the average mpg, after 21,000 miles yesterday, and the IP registered 10.1 average mpg. We normally travel at 55 mph and tow a Jeep Wrangler at 3300 lbs. Cutting speed does increase mpg.

This was last spring driving across Kansas with a strong tail wind. I keep track of fuel and have averaged 7.3 mpg for the past year, towing the CR-V

I'm gonna smoke all you guys !
I've seen 14 lots of times and even pushing 20 going from the continental divide to Grand Junction. I don't really belive it tho. But it's relative because I've seen 3.7 going up some mtns.

Hey, I got you all beat. I just installed my replacement cluster and it shows 9.2 and I have not even left the RV barn!

I have also seen 73 mpg going down hill a couple of times.

Man...this is good stuff. Fixin' to go on a long trip and gonna try to keep it at 55-60 mph and save some fuel.

The wife and I drove down the mountain on I-40 into Cookeville today in our CRV and got passed by a Tiffin Phaeton pulling a full size Suburban and he was doing about 80 or so going downhill. Saw lots of brake lights. Smelled brakes on the way down. Bet he wasn't getting 9 or 10 MPH! Boy, it was a sweet looking Phaeton though (envy)!

OBVIOUSLY, the new cluster could not be at fault, so it must be the install. ED
