While installing a Roadmaster Anti sway bar on my 2009 W-22 chassis I found that the location where I need to install the forward shackle bracket is occupied by two canisters mounted on a bracket. These canisters are about 8" long 6" high and 1.5" wide. they are connected together by hoses. Anyone know what these are and will it be ok to lower them while I drill the holes for my new bracket. Thanks for your help
tom

Tom, Could you be writing about the evaporative emission canisters? I'm just not seeing anything else in the vicinity of the rear axle that might prevent the install of a anti-sway bar.

That could be what they are. i didn't trace the lines down. thought it might be easier to ask on line, as some always seems to know. I should be able to drop these down, so as to get them out of the way so I can drill the bracket holes. I'll trace the lines just to be sure. thanks Mike

Archtop1. I would just rip those canisters off and throw them in the trash. Heck if you dont know what they do then what good are they? Dont let some added weight slow you down from adding a performance enhancing product!

BTW I'm just kidding! Yes those canisters I believe are part of the Fuel Evaporation Emission System. Most likely a charcoal canister.
