Has any one had to replace the shift lock actuator on a workhorse W22 ?

It is located on the steering column about 6" above the floor. it is a device that locks the shift in park when the ignition is on, until the brake pedal is pushed. the part is made by ACDelco #26097679

what was the cost of part and how much were you charged for labor?

I had the same problem a couple of years ago in Jan. Temp was about +10. I ran my MH out of the garage to warm it up and exercise it. After it ran for a while when I wanted to move it I could not get it out of park. I left it run for a while with the heater running and I was able to get it out of park so I could move it. The problem never happened again. I believe the switch can be disconnected. I blame it on frozen moisture in the switch. We previously had a Jan thaw and moisture accumulated through out the MH. It was always my goal to run the MH & generator monthly but I now skip the period of December 20 through Feb 28. I believe it is harder on my MH to start it up than it is to let it sit with out running for that period of time. I have a unheated garage.

Thanks for the reply Don
If you have the prorlem again try this to bypass shift lock.
Turn the key just one notch toward on, this will unlock sdteerig and you will be able to shift to neutral, you can then start the engen and you will be ablel to shift to drive.

Dick

p.s. if that does not work the device can also be qiuckly remove so that you can drive to service.
