After reading several comments on this and other forums, and having several people recommend increasing the castor on my W-22 I finally got around to it. I stopped by Josam Frame and Alignment at 8849 Exchange Drive, Orlando, Florida (407-438-7020) for the adjustment. They were great to deal with and very prompt. The best thing I liked about them was they listened to what I wanted and had experienced techs that understood and supported what I wanted to accomplish. I was told the expected results along with the outcome if these adjustements were taken too far. Too many places resist going outside the factory recommendations, often because of lack of experience, and will only begrudgingly make the changes. The results were everything I had been told. While my coach didn't handle poorly, it required nearly constant small adjustments to maintain my line. Now I can literally let go of the wheel and the coach will track straight. The adjustments it requires now are much less than before. The cost was $370, which I am very satisfied with. The old castor was 3.35 degrees on both left and right. The adjusted castor is 6 dgrees right and 5.5 degrees left. Mike, the tech, recommended those settings because of road crown. I can recommend both the change and the shop that did it.

Dave

You are not alone in this. Several of the W24 owners here have also done this to their coaches as well. With increased caster the tendency for the wheel to straighten is remarkable.

How is the steering effort in lock to lock turns?

Mike,

It's not noticably different. The only difference is that the steering seems to want to go straight, not wander.

David, Just as we both expected!

It'll certianly be worth every bit of the investment you made when you head on on that long road West.
