Getting ready to park the rig for the winter. I have about 2,000 mile since changing the oil. Should I change it now or wait till Spring. Thanks. Russ.

i think there is no need to change your oil with just 2,000 mile on the current change. no need to spend the money, start up this spring and keep on going.

Russ, Just remember to change it in the spring before you run it if you can ...

I changed my oil before nap time because I ran the engine over the winter for an hour per month or so via remote start. Current line of thought on that practice is just to let the engine sit and don't start it until you can get out on the road and run it.

If you change it before storing it, you will flush out all the chemicals that have built up in the used oil so that there won't be any acids etc. eating away at the bearings. You then won't need to change it on startup in the spring. I also recommend that you disconnect your batteries (after charging them) and don't start your engine every month - LEAVE IT ALONE. Consider charging your batteries (external charger) every 2 months if it is extreemly cold. -32C to -40.C up here at times.
Hook up your batteries in the spring - start it up and away you go.

Over the years, I have always changed the oil & filter and lubed the chassis just before I stop using the motorhome for the winter, for the reasons in the previous post. The fuel tank gets filled and I add enough fuel stabilizer (in my case Sta-Bil, http://www.goldeagle.com/brands/stabil/default.aspx) for the 75 gallon tank. I then drive a few miles to ensure the fuel stabilizer is well mixed in the tank and gets into the motor. I also run the generator under load for about an hour to ensure the stabilized fuel is run through the generator.

Where I store my motorhome I'm lucky to usually have access to a convenience outlet to keep the house batteries charged, which requires checking the water level regularly. It also allows installing a battery minder (this is what I use, there are other choices: Battery Tender Plus - Batterytender.com) on the chassis battery to keep that charged.

My grampa always said don't put you horse away wet. If you change it now you ready to go the next time. Oil is very cheap when you compare it to the cost of your MH. my 2cents

Yep, change it once a year regardless of mileage, and change it BEFORE you store it for the winter

Exactly,

Note:
You should consider the following fact when storing your motor home for long periods of time, in excess of three months. Used engine oil contains harmful contaminates that has the potential to pit and/or corrode engine bearings when exposed for longer periods of time.

It is also possible for condensation to collect in the oil pan area as well as the cylinder head and piston/ring areas; engine failure could result due to water and acid contamination of the oil. Therefore, it is important that the oil be changed before the motor home is put in storage as well as after storage, if the motor home is stored for more than one season.

I have in the past changed my oil before long term storage however for the past 5 years my motorhome is always ready to go. I change my oil twice a year regardless of mileage.
