Has anyone had a problem with the charging circuit draining the house batteries in storage? I have been having this problem. Today I tested the amp draw with all circuit breakers open and battery switches off. I had a 15 milliamp draw from the battery charge circuit until I opened it's circuit breaker too. Then it dropped to 0 milliamps.
I posted this in the Gulf Stream forum too, but not as many people respond to that forum as here.

Any help would be appreciated!

When my coach is in storage both my chassis and house batteries are turned off at the cutout switches, and have had no problems. Your batteries should be isolated when the switches are in the off position. If not something is wired incorrectly.

Conventional wisdom suggests total isolation of both battery sets when in the "off'mode and that is not so in most cases. There are a number of circuits not "cold"A memory is supported in radios and engine management computors as well as the propane detector etc.Just put a battery maintainer on and plug it in or use a solar charger if 120 voltage is not available

Sounds like your next step is to isolate the charge cct. Make the wiring change and have its feed on the load side of the battery disconnect; that way when you disconnect the batteries, it will kill all loads.

I have two disconnects on my Vacationner. One for the chassis battery and one for house. Unfortunately, when I kill my chassis battery, it also wipes out my stereo memory presets; likewise, when I kill my house batteries, I loose my built in clock for my auto generator start module. Small price to pay to keep the batteries isolated.

As exrench stated, a cheap small solar panel wired to the batteries is a fine idea. I don't have any on my moho, but I do have one in my van. Many parasitic loads and I like to leave my XM radio on all the time...

Good luck

Thanks for the suggestions. A solar charging circuit would be fine except this problem just started recently. I have isolation switches but am not sure the charging line is controlled by them. My next troubleshooting will be to start isolating the charge line back to the sources till I find the draining component. I'm assuming the line runs to the alternator and the d.c. converter.
Thanks,
