I have a W32 Workhorse chassis. Checking for types of grease used in the owners manual in the lube point diagram it calls for grade 1 wheel bearing lubricant for the U-joints, but in the recomended fluids and lubricants section it calls for the same grease as the chassis. Has anyone run into this? I don't know which to use. thanks Bob

I guess I don't know what a W32 is. We have a W22 and I just use the chassis lube at the U-joints. Have not had any problem with that. I generally lube once a year.

You will want to use a grease that meets the EP rating and to perform the task every 3,000 miles or 1 year which ever comes first.

Remember on the "P" chassis to unload your chassis suspension with your hydraulic jacks, to get the grease in all area's of the joints You are greasing. Use jack stands for safety while lubing Your chassis.
Thw Straight axle's on the "W" series need to have the front axle raised and supported to properly lubricate the king pins. Inother words, put Your jack stands under the axle & let the wheels hang.

To go through a day without learning something, good or bad, is a day without learning is what my very wise grandmother used to say. Today, I learned that all the lube's that I have been doing on my W-20 for the past 7-8 years have not been done correctly. I always extend the jacks as far as possible and use jack stands for safety, but never let the wheels hang. Thanks Mike!

Senior Chief, I have lubed my king pin fittings (4) in the same manner as you have over the past 8 years. In my opinion, having removed the majority of the weight off the king pins by fully extending the jacks makes for a better lubrication effort rather than attempting to do so with the vehicle sitting squarely on the ground.
