I was comparing my 2005 Sightseer 34A on a Workhorse chassis to the 2008 Sightseer 35J on the same chassis. I belive both use the W20 series chassis.

Could someone explain to me why the 2008 has both a GVWR and a front GAWR of 500 more pounds compared to the 2005? Would it be due to using 22.5 tires (2008) vs. 19.5? (2005)

Thank-you,

The GCWR is 26,000 pounds, the same as the W20. The W22 will give you 1,200 more pounds of GVW and yes 22.5 inch tires!

Is the 13500(R) a typo? It only adds up to 21500 GVWR rather than 22000 GVWR.

According to the Chassis Maintenance Guide the axle ratings on a W22 are 8,000(F) and 14,500(R).

Your motorhome manufacturer may not have ordered the optional axles ratings because they believe the ratings are adequate for the load they are imposing on the axle and GVW.<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">How would one go about getting the upgraded axles, are there different springs also? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>You can always buy the springs from your Workhorse Service Center parts counter however do you really need to incur that expense?

So the axles are the same, but the springs are different?

If I bought the optional springs and had them installed at an authorized W/H center.....would it increase my GVWR?
