I would like to add Polished stainless or chrome extensions to my tailpipes. I think it would compliment my Alcoa wheels. Anybody done this?
If so where did you purchase them and how much?
Don

About $60 for 1 3" stainless from the muffler shop that put the 3" exhaust on. It really did'nt stay lookin good for long, I doubt if chrome would better tho

Yes I added stainless extensions on both exhust pipes plus I also added one for the generator. These are not inexpensive but really do look nice. I cannot remember where I purchased these but I did an internet search and bought all three from the OEM.

They both look equally as nice. Stainless is expensive and chrome will rust. It's your choice. I chose the chrome and it didn't take long before they looked worse than the original tips.

Petro, I got my stainless 3" extensions from Camping World (on sale awhile back, about $39 each?). They look good and I'm glad I got them. I have them aimed slightly down from the level position; -looking at the pass. side exhaust, it's pointed at about the 8:00 position. They do not blow on the tires, nor do they kick up dust in the campground.

On a previous rv, I had the chrome tips for exhausts and gen put on by a local muffler-shop. Must say it made it all look a lot nicer, and as long as I kept 'em clean, they didn't rust.
When I got them put on, I jokingly told the guy doing it that I was hoping to get better mileage. He stared at me and just kept on welding, but then went in the office. Few minutes later the owner came out and asked to speak to me in his office. He sat me down and very nicely told me that he couldn't in all good conscience put those on if I was really expecting them to make the engine work better. I told him I was kidding, and then he started grinning and asked if I was willing to 'jazz' the welder-guy. So we hatched a plan to walk out to the rv, talking tall tales about horsepower & speed improvements, handling fixes, etc - all of them solved just by replacing my tailpipes.
Don't know to this day if the welding-guy got told the truth or not.

Auto-Zone has chrome tips for about $30, only problem is they only have one on shelf had to order the second one over night. They have three nut an bolts to attach to tailpipe. They seem to "RUMBLE" alot better now. These are stright tips no turn down. "007"

The new Workhorse SSC option has straight chrome exhaust tips.
Unlike the Banks chrome turn downs where you have to cut back about 8 inches of pipe the SSC tips fit over the existing exhaust pipe. The existing "U" clamp is removed and the chrome tip is secured using the integrated stainless band clamp with a self locking nut.
I'm trying to get a pair of these and I'll take pictures if/when they arrive.

in researching exhaust tips for my 05 Scottsdale, the pipe O.D. is 3" so I am looking for a slip on stainless extension 12 - 18" long with a 3" I.D. I have not been able to locate a 3" I.D. pipe as it appears to be a non standard dimension.

I'll tell you what I did, I went to my local muffler shop and had them in- large the diameter from 3" inches to 3 1/16" and cut the pipe 18" long out of stainless steel, the pipe fit perfect an looks great on the coach, I then mirror polished them what a dynamic addition. Ed.S
