Drove to Hollister, CA from Colo Springs and back after adding UltraTrac bars and Koni FSD shocks (F&R). What a difference! Our rig has a 178" wheelbase with a 10ft overhang. The logic of Drivers suspension upgrades was so good that I added both bars at the same time.
My DW does Medical Transcription as we drive, and the impact (or the reduced impact) of the Koni's got me major points.
On the way back, we stopped at Redlands Truck and RV Performance Center and had the ECM upgrade by Keith. (Both Keith and Karen are quality folks.) Coming back to Colorado we had high winds, a little bit of snow and the trip was still fun! (Not sure DW agrees on the "fun" but she does agree on how much the improvements helped her comfort.
We spent approx $2,500 on the upgrades and although we agree with many that these "upgrades" should be standard, the comfort we got from that expense was well worth it. I have not done the MPG excercise yet because any improvement in the MPG will be icing on the cake.
The improvement in handling, power on hills, shift points, etc. supported the theories and experiences learned from others on this board. Thanks to Driver, Mike B. and all of you that contribute to the board.
