Where can I get a complete service manual for my Workhorse chassis? The one that came with my rig doesn't show step-by-step instructions how to change oil; it only tells how often. Once again, I need a complete service manual that goes into more detail.

My rig is a 2008 Damon Outlaw w/ Workhorse Chassis.

You can get a complete chassis maintenence manual from WCC parts. It comes on CD and cost about $97.

Click on the graphic below.

Forgive my ignorance because I'm new to this site...
Firstly, what is WCC? Secondly, is this manual you mentioned a complete step-by-step instructional book??
I just want to make sure it is more detailed than the manuals that came with my MH.

Thanks in Advance

This publication is not related to the owner's manual or chassis guide. It is a service manual.

Thanks for joining us here on iRV2.com and I hope that you can come back to visit and post often.

I might also offer that if you don't know #1 that #2 becomes a moot point.

Thanks DriVer.
One more dumb question...
Is this maintenance manual different from the ones you can download for free on WCC?

What's FREE to download is the Workhorse Gas Motorhome Chassis Guide.

Question for DriVer - I see the CD only covers years up to 2005. Where would a W24 2006 owner look for his CD?

PS - Keep up the good work, _ you are a great resource for the rest of us.

This CD is MUCH more than the manuals you got with your motorhome. So much more that you may find it a pain at times to find the information you need. It is one BIG pdf file and even with the search feature in Adobe Reader, it takes a while to search through the whole file. If you can't find it in this file, I don't know where you can find it. At less than $100 it is an exceptional value!

The big difference between 05 and 06 is the 6-speed Allison. as far as I know most of the other equipment is the same.

Keep checking back to see if the CD offering gets updated.

Thank you for your words of encouragement.

So DriVer, does this also hold true for an 07 chassis? My W24 was manufactured in Jan/Feb 07. Also, I noticed that there are 2 different versions of the parking brake available on the 07. The yellow pushbutton and the old reliable foot pedal. I was suprised but happy to see mine has the foot pedal. Do you know the reason that WCC makes/offers both? I thought that only the Yellow button(electronic controlled) version was only available.
Just curious,
Mike

All W series equipped with a manually operated foot brakes have a parking pawl internal in the transmission. Chassis without the manual brake do not have a parking pawl but the J72 AAPB.

Going forward the W20 and up all feature parking pawls and manually applied parking brakes. The J72 has been retired on all W24s and W25.5s. The W18 is the only chassis that uses the J72. I believe the W16 has a manually operated foot brake and a parking pawl in the 4L80E transmission.

The UFO does not have a parking pawl, J72 AAPB or a manually applied parking brake. The UFO uses a new computer controlled Arvin Meritor Wabco HPB hydraulic brake system which is a hydraulic over hydraulic parking brake system. It essentially is an auto apply parking brake BUT it's a horse of a differnt color.

The J72 is an electric over hydraulic system.

Thanks DriVer. I appreciate the info.
Now 1 more question, if the transmission has an internal parking pawl, what is the brake drum like attachment on the driveshaft at the output of the transmission. I thought that was the parking brake.
