Today, while changing over to koni shock's on our 05 Sea Breez on a W-24 Chassis, I noticed a crack about 15in. long on the tube that is mounted on the front leaf spring's (the tube is on the front and between the two springs and is about 2in. square tubing) just wanting to know if anybody has run across this befor? I'am going to call Workhorse tomorrow and see what they have say.

Kenscomet, what you are describing is the Workhorse version of a front sway bar. You are doing the right thing in contacting Workhorse or a service center regarding the crack. You should be covered by warranty on this item.

Ken,

Yes this has been noted in this forum before. Call Workhorse they should be able take care of getting that sway bar replaced.

Ken, ours was replaced during a recent front end alighment. The service center mentioned that they have seen several cracked bars. The unit was replaced under warranty.

Fred;

Did the service center say that this problem is unique to the Workhorse W-24 chassis, or is it a problem on all W-series chassis?

Talked to KC from Redlands truck today and he said that when we get back from Bass Lake (near Yellowstone) and Rancho Oso to bring it in and they will replace it. But it might be awhile I have to go out of country for awhile so as soon as I get back I will take it in.

Thanks DriVer;

Sounds like something I can check at my leisure then; thought maybe Workhorse needed to look at it right away...

If the existing bar is under warranty, get it replaced. If not, or even in addition, install the Roadmaster anti-sway bar.

I probably biased since I have one installed and really like the control over side to side sway when entering and leaving driveways. The stock sway bar is probably fine for a delivery vehicle that is rarely loaded to the gills. Our RV's are always within 500 lbs of the max load allowed (or more), so to me the control is welcome.
