Is the cruise control on a W20 '04 Winnebago supposed to shut off when you use the 4 way flashers?

I'm at the beginning of a 10,000 mile trip and I have noticed that some truckers will use their 4 way's as a thank you for signaling that they are clear to change lanes.

I tried it twice and both times the cruise shut off.

Is this some sort of safety thing or do I have a problem?

Right I'm in Omaha, NE on my way to New England and down the east coast before heading home to California.

Hit you're ICC button to thank them. The four way flashers are too much like the brake lights for the WH wiring so it thinks you hit the brakes and shuts the cruise off.

Many/all? later model Winnebagos do not have an ICC switch.
Don't know why.

I don't think you have a problem.
Mine does the same thing and there were some earlier posts concerning this. I am not sure which forum the posts were on though.

The first reply is very correct..

One of the sensors on the Cruise control is a brake switch sensor, This is the SAME switch that activates the brake lights.

The cruise expects to see "Ground" on the brake light lead, when you hit the 4-ways it sees, instead, 12vdc. This is EXACTLY the same as it sees when you hit the brakes.

Drive with your headlights on day or night and use the ICC switch.. I have found the ICC switch only works when the lights are on.

My first model year 2001 W22 doesn't have an ICC switch. I simply turn the headlights off and on again real quick.

Thanks for the answers.I don't have an ICC switch but there is a switch next to the headlight switch that will turn the running lights on and off but it's kind of awkward to use by itself.

I guess I'll just flash the headlights on and off.
