I have a '02 Winnebago Adventurer on a Workhorse chassis. I have installed a new Multifunction Switch but it did not help. When NOT pulling a toad, CC engaged and working, the CC disengages when I turn on the head/parking lights and the resume/reset does nothing. If I turn the lights off then all works well again. When PULLING A TOAD, CC engaged and working, CC disengages when I turn on the lights BUT the resume/reset works. With the headlighs still on, CC working, by turning on a signal light, CC disengages AND resume/reset works. Does this sound like a brake switch issue, or do I have other problems?

stuew2, It certainly does sound like a brake circuit problem to me.

FWIW A bad bulb filament could be delivering power to the brake light circuit. I would check all light bulbs, maybe even pull them to see if the problem goes away. The bulbs are not needed for proper operation of the system. You may be able to check it out in the driveway.

You have a ground fault on the stop/turn signal lights on the rear.

The Cruise control GM and Workhorse use measures voltage across the brake switch, if it sees 12vdc, things work as designed. .If it sees the brake lights as "Lit" (12 volt on both sides) it thinks you have your foot on the brakes so it disengages.

A bad ground on the stop/turn/tail lights and when you turn on the parking lights or the head lights it thinks you hit the brakes.

I knew this sounded familiar. This afternoon, as I was coming home, the cruise would drop off every time I used the turn signal to change lanes. This has happened before and I even changed the Turn Signal Switch. I put the steering wheel up straighter and the problem went away. This has happened as long as I have had this MH and I just kind of accept it. I have a spare TS switch if the need ever arises so I just leave the steering wheel up more. This trip was sort of an emergency, with no prior planning and I had planned to flush brake fluid again. I am happy to report no brake problem on a 400 mile round trip. I may just trust it again for a trip for pleasure.
