I just got my RV back from the Workhorse service shop and now my cruise control won't come on. I've checked the fuse & replaced it(even though it looked fine). I think,a couple of years ago, my cruise control went out and it was a "strange" fuse that was causing the problem-one you wouldn't think had anything to do with cruise control. I don't recall which one it was. Does anyone here have any idea how I can get my cruise control working again? Thanks for any advice!

The last time mine stopped working it was a loosely adjusted brake light switch on the brake pedal arm. Push it until it's firmly against the tab stop and consider adding nuts to the screw-type threads to keep it in place.

Make sure the brake pedal is retracting all the way back to its full up position. Do this by placing your toe under the brake pedal and gently raising it all the way up. Or it could be a combination of brake pedal not rising completely and the brake light switch not adjusted correctly like 'abarkl' suggested. I have a P32 and my brake pedal linkage was adjusted too tight thus preventing my brake pedal from rising completely and as I drove down the road my brake lights were constantly on. I didn't notice I had a problem until I tried to apply the cruise control and it didn't work.

Check your brake light fuse. Ours blew and caused the CC to quit working. The two systems are electricaly interconnected. Also, showed an ABS light on the IP.

Had a problem with CC this summer. Would work until you pressed the brake pedal. Shutoff the ignition and it would work until you pressed the brake again. Turned out to be a brake switch out of adjustment.

Yup, this is how mine reacted too when the brake light fuse went out.

Thanks to all of you for the suggestions. I haven't been able to try them yet, but I will try all of them....Brake petal/brake petal switch/brake fuse/Hazard fuse/others. Now that it was mentioned, I'm thinking it was either the brake fue or the hazard light fuse that caused this problem before. I know cruise control sounds like a small insignificant problem, but I have torn ligaments in both knees & it can become painful without my crusie control. Thanks again to all of you who were willing to help out with this problem!
Happy Motoring!!

Bamagene,
I for one would not consider it an insignificant problem. I use my CC all the time when on the road and I don't share your affliction. I do have a number of others, but thats off the point. Hope you get it fixed soon.

007- I haven't checked back with them yet. I had hoped to ix the problem by replacing a fuse.
I will try the various suggestions and if they don't solve it, I will be forced to take it back to the service center.
BTW, I did visit the Newmar forum...very nice! It's nice to see people talking about things that I can relate to. All RVers are different, but most of the Newmars are very similar so I liked that. I just went through the "windshield wiper replacement" that was a topic on the site. Thanks for letting me know about the Newmar site.

One more W/H owner with a CC problem. I have checked all the fuses & all are AOK. Also have tried the "toe-under-the-pedal" routine repeatedly, and still no go. Looking under the dash at the pedal and switch assemblies, I find nothing attached to the pedal itself, but the switch is mounted in a frame just above the pedal, with no apparant adjustments possible. I cannot see or feel it, but I assume there is a plastic plunger protruding from the switch, that touches the pedal arm. When I barely touch the brake pedal, the electric brake boost motor starts to whirr. My rig is an '05 Dolphin, so I may have a different setup than those who have previously posted on this problem.

The CC acts the same as yours in most WH chassis another thing to check is your running lights if you have a defective bulb or connection for it ,dirty or corrosion, it may knock out your CC the plug for tow of car can cause problems if loose wire or corrosion in plug. When you press your brake pedel the switch should disengage the CC just make sure the switch also disengages the pedel arm, if switch is not mounted correctly like some people have found it is to loose in mounting attachment.
