I've had intermittent problems with our dash air in the past. Some times it would work and some times not. Late last fall I installed a Trik L Start on our motorhome to keep the engine battery charged. We never had a dead battery but it would get low on charge occassionally. Now this year so far every time I have used the dash air it works fine! The only thing that's changed is the addition of the Trik L Start. Is it possible that we need a fully charged battery for the dash air to work properly? I know that when the dash air is on "max" setting the electric radiator fans come on, but I would think the with the engine running that the alternator would be making enough juice to run everything. Any thoughts anyone?

The electric part is only use to engage and disengage the A/C clutch , as far as I know.

I( and a few shops) fought mine for several years. It turned out to be "hairline" cracked vac lines.

I would guess that you may have touched a loose connection to the ac unit or dash switch when connecting the trickle charger and is now making better contact. I have had my dash air be intermittant and found the connection on the back of the dash control switch very touchy. You may have to wait until the hottest day of the year to see if it really still works! LOL

My dash air is working within expectations. Naturally I wish it were colder but it could also be a whole heck of a lot warmer. I keep a A/C thermometer in the dash A/C register and I can usually see a 20 degree difference between outside and inside temperatures.

I bought the Thermo at Advanced.
