I took my Workhorse in for 30K servicing today and also asked them to look at the dash air which often blows warm when I am stopped at a light, etc.,
EKKKK!
It seems that there is a part which has failed frequently enough for the service writer to immediately guess what was wrong. Sorry - I have no idea what the part is - but he said that there is a diaphragm in the part which can get stuck and eventually, if the part is not replaced, the diaphragm will rupture and all of the coolant will spray out - list loosing a water hose. He said that the part isn't very expensive but a bit hard to get to but the tow if it blows can be very expensive. He said last customer he had rang up a $500 plus tow charge.
Fortunately, I have a good ERS but ....
So, obviously, if you are experiencing the same problem, get it fixed before you get to watch your MH being towed.
SECOND EKKKKK! He also said something in the Workhorse supply chain got hit by a tornado recently and that he hoped he could find the part locally. So - if you are making a service appointment - you might want to check see if you can delay the service for a bit if you are going to need a part which is lying in somebody's pasture instead of a warehouse.

Two known problems.
1) Evens Tempcon heater control valve fails and allows hot water to the heater core when in the AC mode.
2) The air intake is to far away from a fresh air source and therefore it sucks heated engine air in at low speeds or when stopped. A solution is to run on max air to draw air from inside the coach and not outside air.

Oemtech's second response is 100% correct in the cause of this problem. When stopped the air conditioner sucks in heated under hood air. The fix it to run it in MAX mode which sucks cooler inside coach air.

Warm dash air when AC is preferred can be caused by incomplete sealing of the radiator bulkhead. Hot engine air is easily recycled forward thru the this area when at a standing idle or when lugging uphill with a tailwind. Hot air is also presented to the cool pack and so the phenomenon quickly reinforces itself. The solution employs the use of aerosol foam, caulk, sheet tin or aluminum and duck tape or gorilla tape. Make sure air can only travel thru the cool pack. Good luck!!

I agree with T&W, when you are not moving engine heat gets to the FRONT of the radiator, And there are a couple of fans up there I got to verify operation on, I suspect they too need to be running all the time when AC is active, and may not be working.
You would be amazed at how hot it can get up where the condenser is,, Try a remote reading Thermometer there some time.. Make sure it can go to 300 degrees minimum.
