I will second that statement.. Sounds like Operation per design.
Now: If the A/C cycling bothers you locate the A/C compressor,, there should be one and only one wire hooked to it Remove this wire, label it and "tie" it to something that does not get hot nearby (Perhaps the pump intake line) That will prevent it from cycling.
It is possible to put a switch in this wire, but I'd not spend money (on the switch) till you are sure you want it that way.
The A/C cycles on in the Defrost mode to remove moisture from the air,, Then the air passes through the heater core to heat it up, it's now hot and dry and does a much better job of de-fogging than hot and moist air does.. Just in case you were wondering.
